At the July 10 meeting of the Coordinating Council, the finance committee asked that all SC/CBF committees voluntarily reduce their spending by 10 percent. Income is down and expenses are up for the past several months, finance chair Suzanne Morse reported.

2008 Goal: $80,000

The offering helps fund Metanoia, our urban ministry in Charleston; various work with internationals; and our work with the poor in Allendale. In 2007, we raised just over $50,000 for state missions.

Youth Minister Retreat

CBF/SC, CBF/AL, and CBF/GA are excited to announce the first tri-state Youth Minister Retreat. This event will be a wonderful opportunity for youth ministers from these three states to network with one another.

The retreat will focus on community building and providing resources for youth ministry.
The theme this year is Balance in the Big Top. We will focus on how to balance the demands of life and ministry in the church.

When: September 8-10
Where: Simpsonwood Retreat Center, Duluth, GA
