The constitution of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South
Carolina gives the 40-member governing Coordinating Council the
authority to appoint individuals to standing committees in order to help
the council carry out its work. Members so appointed are called
associate members and are appointed for terms not to exceed three years.
